Colleen McCandless

Colleen McCandless has been writing and acting since childhood and owes a lot to her creative and supportive family. Written while a performance undergrad, her first play Fledgling received the Kennedy Center's 2016 John Cauble Award for Outstanding Short Play, and went on to workshop productions at STAGEStheatre and Glendale Community College. Colleen's subsequent works include Fourteen Fingers, a site-specific beach play; Boxcar Blue, a musical in development; This Slam Happens Between the Sizzle and the Hum, co-written with director Lottie Frick and performed in an apartment kitchen; and All In One Night, an original concept album and annual charity show reading of A Christmas Carol. Her music can be streamed and downloaded, and she hopes you enjoy the plays.

Synopsis

Welcome, unwitting peons! Elise has finally achieved a lucid dream, and she is summoning you to bear witness to her experimentation on the literal beach of her subconscious. Her trusty sidekick Gordy is here to provide sound effects, emotional support, and maybe some emotional challenge as well. Join them by the waves as Elise (and her bravado) talk to a famous person, her boss, her spirit guide, and much more...

Synopsis

Six months after the sudden passing of his mother Wren, 12-year-old Bran and his family are now also losing their home. His father Robin is coping by not talking about it, and his sister Jay is coping by yelling and playing with matches. Bran finds that he is changing in ways that are more physical when he begins finding black feathers growing through his hair. He knew something was different when that crow...
