Courtney Seyl is a playwright and director based in New York City. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2017 with her B.A. in Theatre Arts and a minor in English. In 2021 she participated in the Voices of America writing workshop and was fortunate enough to take part in the Kennedy Center's Playwriting Intensive.
In February of 2020 she premiered Act 2 of her first full length play, REVOLUTION, with FEAST Performance series. In October of 2022 it premiered at The Tank Theatre and has been nominated for seven Off-Broadway Awards. It won Best Performance in an Off-Off Broadway play.
Her play Compulsion has been produced in the Shelter 'n' Play Podcast, has been filmed for the Irondale On Women Festival, and premiered at NYWinterfest in Dec. of 2022. She is currently working on...

As a director she has been fortunate to direct her show REVOLUTION and Compulsion. She has also directed Something Unknown for the Strawberry One-Act Festival; assistant directed Aftershocks in NY Winterfest, directed No Exit and Laughing Wild with her company, Red Leather Theatre co; directed The Pillowman and This is Our Youth at the University of Puget Sound; dramaturged Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play; and Stage Managed for NY Winterfest and the Strawberry Theatre Festival.
