In the middle of the American version of nowhere, is a clinic run by Dr. Jay Louis and his Head Of Security/Nurse, Shelia. It caters to the sick, the injured, the desperate-the ones who are out of options. They are charged nothing for their care. In a variety of ways, they have already paid. Dr. Louis struggles with guilt. He has funded his clinic with the gains made from having once owned stock in the usurious, price gouging Big Pharma company, Pentzlinger. He also deals with urgent anxiety, for he has discovered what he calls The Treatment: A comprehensive cure for-everything. It could end the healthcare industry as we know it. If he is found out before he has the chance to present it to the world, his work, and his very life, could be at grave risk. The Fugitive Oath navigates such terrain with humor, compassion, treachery and blood.
