Julie Hébert is an award-winning writer/director of theater, film and television. Her work has been produced at many theaters including the Magic, Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, San Diego Rep, Seven Stages, the Women’s Project and others. She is a proud alumna of New Dramatists. Her plays include the PEN Award winners TREE and THE KNEE DESIRES THE DIRT, as well as TRUE BEAUTIES, ALMOST ASLEEP, ST. JOAN AND THE DANCING SICKNESS and RUBY’S BUCKET OF BLOOD, which was adapted into a film with Angela Bassett. Her film, Female Perversions, was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at SunDance.
