Brian Gene White is a writer, classically trained actor, and director. He worked at NASA for seven years as the producer and host of the von Karman Lecture Series, bringing space and technology to thousands of folks every month. His graphic novel “Death’s Assistant” is scheduled for a 2025 release and working with Picturestart to bring his story to the screen. His play "Future Tripping" opened to rave reviews in its 2022 World Premiere at LOFT Ensemble and he is developing the film adaptation with Framework Productions. He has had readings at Loading Dock Theatre, Moving Arts Theatre, the Great River Shakespeare Festival, New Canon Theatre Company, and the Ensemble Shakespeare Theatre. He has played Hamlet, Malvolio, a History Boy, Lou Costello, and many others in his career. He received his BFA at the conservatory at Webster University. He is a proud member of AEA and the Dramatists Guild.

Pilgrim is an honest, loving, and sometimes brutal look at the difficulties of caring for someone with terminal cancer. Ben Martin, in the final hours of his fight with esophageal cancer, meets his guardian angel of death...John Wayne. Duke guides Ben through the stages of death and acceptance. We find closed off midwestern men discovering intimacy and an old west that doesn’t exist anymore.

The play tackles some of the difficult aspects of taking care of the terminally ill from the medications, feeding, and restroom elements to the fear and boredom of waiting for the inevitable. In Pilgrim, “we all know we’re going to die, but no one ever believes it.” Grace has to accept her father’s death and Ben has to accept his daughter’s life.
