Dillon McGuire

Dillon McGuire was born in Falls Church Virginia in the summer of 1997 but has spent most of his life in the New England area, living in New Hampshire from the age of six months and then Boston at four years old. He began participating in school productions in the first grade and joined the Art Barn Community Theatre in Brookline, MA, in the fifth grade at the age of 10. He continued to do three productions a year with Art Barn in addition to school productions until 2011 when he moved on to Brookline High School.

He began participating in school productions in the first grade and joined the Art Barn Community Theatre in Brookline, MA, in the fifth grade at the age of 10. He continued to do three productions a year with Art Barn in addition to school productions until 2011 when he moved on to Brookline High School.
Dillon was a highly active participant in the Brookline High School Drama Society, acting in, directing and stage manginging various productions throughout his time at the school, eventually being elected as the Drama Society’s President in his senior year. Dillon also began doing theatre outside of school, begin cast in the FUDGE Theatre Company’s production of Macbeth in 2013 and being hired to direct The Return by Ludmila Anselm at the 2014 Boston Playwrights Platform. While at Brookline High School, Dillon co-wrote his first play; a 20 minute farcical comedy Roach, which was produced as part of the schools Student Directed Festival. The next year he solo wrote another play- The Proclean Assassin- which was also produced at the same annual festival. In addition to discovering playwriting Dillon discovered drag after being cast as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray during his senior year. His drag character Pumpkyn Spyce was born at a talent show shortly before graduating in 2015.
In the fall of 2015 Dillon began studying theatre at the Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre. He continued to work outside of school, in the Newton Theatre Company’s 2016 production of Agamemnon and being invited back to participate in their production of the rest of the Oresteia the following summer. He also had the chance to perform in SpeakEasy Stage’s staged reading of Knock Down, Drag Out in May 2017. Dillon spent the spring of 2018 in Dublin, Ireland, where he worked as a casting assistant with Ali Coffey Casting. During his time at Boston University Dillon took all of the classes in the playwriting course and honed his passion for writing. Several of his plays including Bainwater and Panic! Or, The Long Awaited Pressing of the Big Red Button had staged readings and his play The Real Nestwives of the Cretaceous was eventually produced as part of BU’s 2019 season and served as his senior thesis.
Dillon resides in Boston where he continues to write and perform.
