Hailing from Evanston, IL, Claire Greising is a playwright from the Midwest who likes to write about Midwestern people. She is interested in stories about freaks and weirdos, with a specific focus on how our idiosyncrasies can bring us together and reveal our shared humanity.
Claire holds a BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she founded Broke People Play Festival, a new works incubator that continues to connect student theatremakers across disciplines to this day. She’s currently working on her MFA in Playwriting at Brooklyn College, where she teaches English Composition as an Adjunct Lecturer.

Claire is also an essayist and music journalist whose writing has appeared in Paste Magazine, Hobart, Human Parts, and elsewhere on the internet. As a comedian, she has performed stand up, improv, and sketch comedy in theaters, bars, basements, and backyards around the country. She currently lives in Manhattan with her two (2) cats and one (1) boyfriend.
