Mr. Hinton was educated in Wake County Public schools at Lucille Hunter and Ligon High School. He briefly attended North Carolina A&T State University before being inducted into the U.S. Army where he served his country from 1972 to 1974.

Professor Kenneth Hinton is an educator, Actor, Stage & Video Director, and playwright.. He direct plays at Shaw University, NCCU and Agape Theatre Project.

After completing his tour of duty in the U.S. Army, he continued his education in Southern California. He received his Associate of Arts degree at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA in 1977 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/TV/Film from California State University, Long Beach in 1990.

Mr. Hinton earned his Masters of Art in Dramatic Art in 1995 from the University of California, Santa Barbara with an emphasis on producing and directing television adaptations of theatrical stage productions. Mr. Hinton has won three national CASE awards for his documentary television work in 1988, 1989, 1991, from Ford Motor Company. Mr. Hinton is an expert directing multi-camera video productions.

Cast as Ozelle Graham in the play “Wise Ones” at the University of North Carolina, Sonya Haynes-Stone Center, June 3, 2005. Cast as Rev. Luke Roberts in the play “A Heart Divided” Nov. 5-7, 2004 at the St. Mary’s School in Raleigh. Cast as Gerald in the Robin Armstrong play “Smoldering Embers” at the Carrboro Arts Center theatrical series of Shorts in Winter February 5-14, 2004. Cast as Randolph in the Sam Art-Williams play “Dance on Widow’s Row” at the Raleigh Little Theatre, January 31-Febuary 16, 2003. Mr. Hinton i on the Board of Directors of the Durham Regional Theatre.
