Evan Peterson is a playwright and screenwriter currently based out of New York City. He is a recent graduate from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he obtained his B.A. in Theater Arts with a concentration in Direction, Dramaturgy, and Playwriting and minors in English Writing and English Language, Literature, and Theory. His work often revolves around building sustainable and equitable futures.
His plays have been workshopped at the National Theater Institute through the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, the Playwrights' Center and Augsburg University. His first play, Merkur and Venera premiered at the Minnesota Fringe Festival in August 2016 and received development support in fulfillment of departmental honors in April 2018. His film work has been screened twice at the Walker Art Center, as well as at Bryant-Lake Bowl, IFP MN, the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival, Phoenix Film Festival Melbourne, Machinima Expo (Selected Honorable Mention), and the North American Film Awards (Silver Award recipient.) He has developed sound design work with Augsburg University, Hennepin Theatre Trust, Other Tiger Productions, as well as Taproot Theatre Company in Seattle, where he previously held a sound design internship.
