Joan Mathieu's one-act Diet Coke for the Dead premiered at Paradise Factory (2025). Her short play Ruby's was presented at the Salmagundi Club (2026) and is a finalist in the Schreiber Shorts Festival (2026). She made her New York City acting debut in Grant Varjas’ Bookstore and performed a monologue from her play Hello Beautiful at Paradise Factory (2025). She made her film debut in Andrew Sully’s short Crowded River (2024). Joan's essays, short stories and plays have appeared in The Antioch Review, The Rumpus, Plinth (Winter 2025) and Hermette Magazine. She is the author of Zulu: An Irish Journey (Farrar, Straus & Giroux).
