Olivia Ray (she/they) is a Brooklyn based actor-playwright. She graduated from Tisch's Experimental Theater Wing (ETW) in December 2022. Their recent acting roles include: James in The D Project (WaxFactory), The Infinite Consciousness of the Fungi in Now & Later (New York Theater Festival), Argent in Ghost (ETW), Chorus in Bakkhai (PHTS), Gorgonzola in Gorgonzola (The Chain), and Marjorie in Marjorie Prime (ETW). Her play Agoraphobic/Claustrophobic went up in May 2022 at Collaborative Arts at Tisch. In high school their short play Paracosm was a finalist in California Youth Playwright's Competition 2018 and a finalist in Marin County's Young Playwright's festival. Agoraphobic/Claustrophobic is a one-act play written by playwright Olivia Ray that modernizes the infamous Greek myth of Icarus with a gender-bent twist. With a more intimate look at Icarus’s life with their parent Daedalus, the play reveals a deeper understanding of why Icarus flew towards the Sun. Once Icarus reaches the limits of the sky, they meet the Greek god Apollo, and they find themselves in another...
