Maya Jaffe

Maya Jaffe is a playwright and student based in the Bay Area of Northern California. She is currently earning a B.A. in Theatre Arts and English from Santa Clara University with plans to graduate in the spring of 2024. While Maya mainly works as a writer, she also has experience in directing, stage management, and design. Her latest project which went up in April was a devised one-act, carry what lingers, which she helped write, design, and direct. Currently, Maya is prepping for her next project, a production of Ken Ludwig’s The Game Afoot, which she will be assistant directing.

Synopsis

Two men sit in a room, debating a banana. What is the purpose of a banana? What makes a banana a banana? Who created bananas? These men philosophize the fruit, delving into every possible characteristic of the humble yellow food. We don’t know who they are, we don’t know why they’re doing this, but we do know that these men really know how to drag out a conversation. You will never look at a banana the same way.
