PPPKB is a sci-fi farce, reverse Russian Nesting Doll that captures the overconsumption of media that turns our empathy switch off. It's 40 years in the future, where a focus group is reviewing (allegedly AI-generated) reality TV pilots for a production company. The subjects deeply struggle to see eye to eye, almost as if they were selected specifically to create conflict. The shell expands, revealing this setup to be a rogue where not-Nancy-Pelosy is trying to collect data on which issues to run on for her next presidential bid. When Eco-terrorist-aliens storm the focus group and set up a live stream, they demand that the focus group vote on which of them is allowed to live. A third shell expands, revealing an alien-not-Nancy-Pelosy, trying to collect data on whether saving Earth from a climate catastrophe would be popular among her constituents. The play itself is both an experiment and an experience that culminates in a real-life audience QR scan vote <3, determining the characters' very fate. Or does it? Does voting do anything? Has democracy failed? Let’s find out together.
