Kit Twichell

Kit Milne Twichell (they/them) is an early-career dramaturg, scholar, and playwright originally from Florida and currently based in upstate South Carolina. They received their BSW and MA in Theatre & Performance Research from Florida State University, and are pursuing a PhD in Theatre at Ohio State University.

As a dramaturg, Kit specializes in production dramaturgy and new play development for historical, experimental, and surrealist theatre which heavily influences their own writing. When not writing or working on shows, they run TTRPG games for their friends, hike the Appalachian Mountains with their dog, read queer sci-fi, and collect all things odd and shiny.

EVENT HORIZON is a ten-minute monologue with ample room for a physical actor to play with the open stage and find emotional beats between the lines. Originally created for the Lyric Theatre of Leadville's 24-Hour Theatre Festival with the prompt of "a door that no one knows where it leads."
