Olivia Haller is a playwright and screenwriter from the DC Metro area currently based in Los Angeles. Her stage plays have been presented at or developed with Relative Theatrics, Convergence Theatre (2018 Women's Voices Theater Festival), 2cents Theatre Group (2020 INK Fest), NextStop Theatre Company, Spooky Action Theatre, Theater Alliance, Keegan Theatre, Rorschach Theatre, Nu Sass Productions, and the Inkubator New Works Development Laboratory. Her play LONELINESS WAS A PANDEMIC will receive an Off-Broadway production in November 2024. Most recently, her short film [subtext] has played over 50 film festivals and counting, including the American Pavilion at Cannes and the Austin Film Festival. Robots have finally advanced enough to realize they can do everything better than humans - except make art. The robots have done away with all humans except for a select few artists. When one human is tasked with teaching a robot how to paint, they grapple with the question of whether such a thing is possible, and whether they would want to do it at all. Could robots ever be capable of creating art, and if so...

When one human is tasked with teaching a robot how to paint, they grapple with the question of whether such a thing is possible, and whether they would want to do it at all. Could robots ever be capable of creating art, and if so, could they also be capable of compassion? Or is the human's need for companionship more important than their handle on reality?

Lauren, a recent college grad, moves back in with her parents while she looks for a job. However, the behavioral aggression of Noah, Lauren’s adult brother with autism, is severely increasing. Lauren struggles between her desire to move away to build her own life and the urgent need to help her family in a time of crisis.

This play received its world premiere as a part of the 2018 Women's Voices Theater...
