Melanie Hoopes

Melanie (she/her) is a writer and director originally from Connecticut. Recent credits include The Loneliness Cure (Quick Center, Fairfield University), Six Feet: A Play About What’s Between Us (RiverArts), Kindness Committee (RiverArts), and One Giant Leap: The Apollo Moon Landing 50 Years On (New York Times), and the musical, Murderbirds! She’s written for public radio and for podcasts including Here’s The Thing (WNYC) and Lethal Lit (iHeartRadio). Melanie was also a writer for Bloodline on Netflix. She is currently working on an adaptation of The Christmas Carol with composer Chan Poling.

She is the host and producer of pod-ette, the podcast companion to the literary magazine -ette, and the drummer for The GoGo’s tribute band, Hot Flash. melaniehoopes.com
