Jamie, a member of the Human Empire's Fleet among the stars, is writing a letter home to their family back on Earth. This surprises Glork, a near-immortal alien sent to observe humanity, and they get to talking about the philosophy of human nature.

Bob, a famous artist, paints in the Afterlife. His memory of his time on Earth dwindles while he awaits the next reincarnation cycle. A Specter comes along, a fellow artist and military man, and they discuss what it means to have a vision.

Andy goes for a walk with their dog Jellybean, and they talk about his parents' coming divorce.

After Lauren was left at the altar, she and her best friend Natalia go on the honeymoon together to every queer space in the state. They meet Hera in the ladies' room at a drag bar, and their lives are changed.

Convinced his estranged wife is having an affair, a janitor visits Lady C, the new Psychic in town, to get some answers.
