Jaime Alejandro Cruz is a Mexican-American, award-winning playwright, podcaster, and multimedia creative raised in Wyoming.

Recent audio play collaborations with Teatro del Pueblo, The Ugly Radio, and self-produced at the coalition. His stage plays have been produced at the University of Wyoming, Las Vegas Little Theater, and Rain City Projects, among others. Jaime has created educational plays for young audiences for the Casper Children’s Theater, high schools, and more. He was recently invited to serve as panelist for the Ohio Arts Council Excellence Award for play/screenwriting.

As a performer, Jaime focuses on voiceover work for indie projects and is the singing half of the acoustic duo Cruz & Jonez. Jaime was recently onstage as a University of Wyoming visiting artist, in Robert Con David-Undiano's 'Bless Me, Coatlicue,' the first play about the great Chicano writer Rudolfo Anaya.

To serve fellow independent creatives, Jaime hosts and produces the Arts Calling Podcast, a showcase of artists in the literary, visual, and performing arts. He is also the founder of the Coalition for Digital Narratives, a gathering of short-form storytelling, audio projects, and home of the coalitionworks literary journal. Through an absurdist immigrant lens, Jaime creates stories about family, working-class people, and outsiders. Jaime studied theater performance at Casper College (AA), and playwriting/directing (BFA) at the University of Wyoming.

Jaime has worn many hats, including those of small business owner, employment specialist, case manager, business representative, and multimedia creative. His work experience in the human services field influences his projects tremendously.

Set in December of 1999, hours before the new millennium enters, an undocumented hotel maid named Lupe is on the verge of getting her son back. To do so, she must save her failing relationship with Jared, a construction worker with a short fuse who lusts after Kaycee, the disturbed college dropout who survives her suicide and finds spirituality in Tim, a man-child pizza delivery boy who is terrified of women...

Set in December of 1999, hours before the new millennium enters, an undocumented hotel maid named Lupe is on the verge of getting her son back. To do so, she must save her failing relationship with Jared, a construction worker with a short fuse who lusts after Kaycee, the disturbed college dropout who survives her suicide and finds spirituality in Tim, a man-child pizza delivery boy who is terrified of women. Amid the Y2K madness, pizza deliveries and the pornography, they just may find their place in the world, before time runs out.

It’s a story about people looking for salvation in the wrong places, the lengths people go to justify the irrational, and a mother’s love for her child.
