In this queer, campy adaptation of Alice Gerstenberg’s classic play, Harriet McKinley is the picture of 1980s perfection, complete with shoulder pads, a Rolls Royce and a marriage to Atlanta’s third-richest woman. As the two women trade dainty pleasantries, their unfiltered inner selves, Hetty and Maggie, reveal the raw truth: Harriet is plotting on stealing back Margaret’s wife, painter Joan Silva, while the “successful” Margaret is secretly starving and desperate for a commission to keep the lights on.
