Alexander Attea is a Chicago-based playwright and the Artistic Director of Avalanche Theatre. His plays have been developed and performed with Jackalope Theatre, Bramble Theatre, Red Theater, Silk Road Cultural Center, The Plagiarists, Bower Theatre Ensemble, Three Brothers Theatre, the International Museum of Surgical Science, Illinois State University, Mississippi State University, Benchmark Theatre, and more. He is a member of the 2025-26 New Arab American Theater Works' Midwest Playwright Incubator Cohort. He was a member of the 2023 Jackalope Playwrights Lab, a 2022 Arist-in-Residence at Mackinac State Historic Parks, and a Resident Playwright with Three Brothers Theatre from 2018-2020. He received his BFA in Theatre Performance from Niagara University.
