  • I really enjoyed reading this. It grabbed me early with its rich sense of place, attention to detail, a distinctive tone, and a great lead role in Who. Although the play is eventful and covers a long period of time full of upheaval and social change, I appreciated the understated way it gestures to the importance and strength of community and continuity, with a persevering and moving main character at the center of it all.

  • Motherland, full of endearing and flawed characters, explores the ways families both harbor and must let go of painful, secret histories. It's rich with moving specifics while being effortlessly relatable, inviting reflection on one's own family history. The lead role is deep and dynamic for a strong actress, but then all the roles are complex and challenging. Added bonus: there's a thrilling doubling scheme/historic subplot that would be as exciting to stage as it would be to experience.

  • Moving, relatable, and funny, The Empty Nesters is a solid 2-character play with meaty roles for two strong mid-career actors.

  • Smart, innovative absurdism, Currency is a nutty and freewheeling play that builds and builds, full of laughter and clever provocation.

  • Bernardo has pulled off a tricky balancing act with this play. It's full of audacious satire and empathetic, relatable characters. It's urgent, serious, and seriously funny.

  • Kyle Therral Wilson: Colonel's Chicken: A Fairy Tale

An inspiring and surprising fantasy about heartbreak, survival, and the numbing power of pop corporate fast food.

  • Kyle Therral Wilson: Hath Taken Away

A delicate, imagistic and elegant play, Hath Taken Away addresses questions of sacrifice and choice (specifically women's) in challenging and surprising ways. I'm most impressed by the play's quietly complex structure, and most moved by its vividly sensual portrayal of deeply religious characters.
