Peter Lawson Jones is an attorney, business consultant, professional actor and dramatist.
Jones, a member of SAG-AFTRA and Actor’s Equity, has appeared in well over two dozen films as well as on network television. Among his many credits are "A Man Called Otto," "White Boy Rick," "The Assassin's Code," "Alex Cross," NBC's "Chicago Fire" as a guest star and ABC’s "Detroit 1-8-7." He has appeared in plays at numerous venues throughout Northeast Ohio and in staged readings Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane and the Ensemble Studio theatres. Earlier this year he received the 2016 Indie Gathering International Film Festival Best Ohio Supporting Actor Award for his role in the comedy, "How to Change the World."

Jones's drama, "The Family Line," has been successfully produced at Karamu House, Harvard University and Ohio University and has received staged readings at several other venues. His award-winning play, "The Bloodless Jungle," has enjoyed two full productions at Ensemble Theatre in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. "Land of Cleve," a local arts and cultural blog, ranked the more recent production as one of the top productions in Northeast Ohio in 2017. The drama has also received staged readings at the John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center's 15th Annual Page to Stage New Play Festival, at the National Black Theatre Festival, at the Black Academy of Arts and Letters's Playwright Spotlight Series at the Dallas Convention Center, at Duquesne University and in New York City (Harlem) courtesy of Shades of Truth Theatre and the Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group. His most recent work, "The Phoenix Society," successfully premiered in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2022.
Jones is co-executive producer of "Fatherhood 101," a documentary on the critical importance of responsible fatherhood. He is a consultant in the areas of government relations, community engagement, event planning, fundraising, market development and fatherhood programming.
For nearly nine years Jones served as a member of the Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners and for three of those years as its president. Jones previously served two and one-half terms in the Ohio House of Representatives and was formerly the Vice Mayor and a Councilman in the City of Shaker Heights, Ohio.
A graduate of Harvard College (magna cum laude in Government) and Harvard Law School, Jones has received over fifty awards and honors for his governmental, civic and political work. He has been listed in Who’s Who in American Politics and Among Black Americans and was inducted into both the Karamu House and the Shaker Heights (High School) Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
Jones and his spouse Lisa are the proud parents of three children: Ryan Charles, Leah Danielle and Evan Cooke.
