  • Becky MacDormand: Sex in the Age of Purity

This is a powerful play. I am a professor at a Christian university and some of my students came across this piece while doing a project on purity culture. There are too many fantastic moments throughout this play that I could not highlight them all. Instead, I highly suggest everyone read it. It is a perfect portrayal of those who have experienced "crotch-centered Christianity" and were guided away from "Christ-centered Christianity".

I think this play is appropriate for those younger than 18 as well, Bish. I believe youth under 18 need to be educated through theatre such as this.

  • Becky MacDormand: Recess

I have my students read this lovely 10-minute play in my playwriting class. The characters and style are fun, the flow of the story is superb, and the play's end will certainly pull on your heartstrings. Well worth the read, and well worth producing.

  • Becky MacDormand: Miscarrying On: A Nightmare Farce

I love this play. It made me laugh harder than I had in a long time and by the end I was bawling. Wertner is wildly hilarious and does not stray from the heart of his story.

  • Becky MacDormand: inValidated

    Fierce! A play with authority.

  • Becky MacDormand: YOU, ME, AND ENNUI

Krantz's writing reveals her deep understanding of the rhythm and complexities of human life. The humor, the heartbreak, and the total chaos of our day-to-day do not go unnoticed in You, Me, and Ennui as she explores the beautifully complicated relationships between the characters and those no longer with us.

A fun and enlightening evening would be had by all.

  • Becky MacDormand: Triple Threats

Poignant, hilarious, and thought-provoking. A musical that will make you think, and laugh, then think again. Well done, Tracey. Well done.

  • Becky MacDormand: Rabbit Summer

Everyone watch out for Conyer Lee: this woman is bold, fierce, and is definitely a name you will know one day. Not only is her writing natural and provocative, but she approaches timeless social and political issues in a unique way with a revelatory light. It would be impossible to walk away from her work, unmoved. I believe with the help of her words, these "timeless" issues - of race and discrimination, etc. - will one day be out of time and left in the past.
