Kara Cutruzzula is a New York-based playwright, lyricist, librettist, and journalist.

She is a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Advanced Workshop, the BMI Musical Theatre Librettists Workshop, and the Dramatists Guild. Her essays and writing about work, creativity, and travel have been featured in ​The New York Times​, ​Newsweek, ​The Daily Beast, Vulture, and other publications....

She writes Brass Ring Daily, a newsletter designed to encourage people and their creative projects, and her first book, a motivational journal titled Do It For Yourself, was published by Abrams in fall 2020.
