Lawrence Paone

Lawrence Paone was born in Malverne, New York, and graduated from Drew University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. In 2021, he was selected as a semi-finalist in the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference for his full-length farce, Certifiably Yours.
In 2018, his one-act play, I Forgot to Worry, was produced in the 28th Annual Pittsburgh New Works Festival and won the Best Play Award. With Matthew Aibel, Lawrence co-authored Do You Have Anything Closer? which was produced in the 2004 Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City. He is also the co-author of the 2007 short film, Continuity Malfunction and the author of a feature-length screenplay entitled, I Kill at Funerals.

Lawrence has been blessed with a livelihood as a worker in various Broadway theatre Box Offices and as an officer of his Union, Treasurers and Ticket Sellers Local 751, I.A.T.S.E. He views his plays, Certifiably Yours and I Forgot to Worry, as the start of his second career as a playwright.
He currently lives in Metuchen, New Jersey with his wife, Catherine LaMoreaux. He is the proud father of Anna and Laura, and the proud grandfather of Louisa.
