  • Sam Collier: Working for Crumbs - A Dead Body Farce

I saw a staged reading of this play at the Women's Theatre Festival in North Carolina, and it was one of the funniest plays I've ever seen. Danley's dialogue is terrifically clever, well-paced, and hilarious. I would love to see a full production of it!

  • Sam Collier: The Niceties

Was lucky enough to see a production of The Niceties at Interlochen Center for the Arts, and found it brilliant, truthful, and urgent. This is the kind of play that should be produced all over the country, the kind of play that reflects back to us our most damning contradictions and hypocrisies, and then charts a course forward. I can't wait to read and see more of Burgess's work.

  • Sam Collier: Summertime

This powerful and timely play explores a future America in which all medical care is banned. I was lucky to see the production at UC Davis during the Ground and Field Theatre Festival. The snappy dialogue, clever social commentary, and excellent pacing make this a terrific play for this cultural moment.

  • Sam Collier: Walden

This play is so beautiful! The characters are vivid and true. The plot is expertly paced, as the tension between the sisters ratchets up with every new revelation. And the story is emotionally wrenching, right up through the final moments of the play. I saw a reading of this play at the Valdez Theatre Conference, where the audience was on the edge of their seats. This is the kind of play we desperately need, as the coming century asks us to grapple with our deepest fears, hopes, and beliefs in the face of climate change.

  • Sam Collier: Three Antarcticas

I adore this play. Brilliantly conceived and beautifully written, this is essential work for a world on the brink of climate catastrophe. In three separate but intertwined stories, we travel to the icy edge of the world, where explorers, scientists, and lovers seek something beyond their everyday lives. But Antarctica is changing too. I would love to see a production of this play!

  • Sam Collier: Round One

This play is hilarious! I saw it in the Valdez Play Slam, and it stood out for its wit and pointed commentary. Sharp, true, and perfectly timed. I hope to see more of Andrea's work.
