  • Anything David MacGregor pens is a gem and “The Trouble with Cashews” is no exception! David has the wonderful talent of taking something seemingly insignificant and finding very powerful meanings. With belly-busting humor! Who would’ve thought someone eating nuts would develop into a discussion of the downfall of humanity? A wonderful show for any festival but only if you want your audience to laugh!

  • Mathew Green’s “FISH & FOWL” is a gem! Siblings with vastly different views of their deceased father look through his possessions and make a startling discovery! Moments of humor and a big reveal take the audience on a very entertaining ride! Highly recommend!

  • Dana Hall’s “Underneath” highlights how difficult it is to give up the past. When Steve tries to get his parents to throw out some of the junk they’ve been hoarding, some very touching and funny moments highlight how one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. Each person has memories and connections to objects throughout their lives, and Hall masterfully weaves a story showing that what simmers underneath is love.

  • Greg Vovos’ “Every, Every” is a story that elicits so many feelings! In the aftermath of a tragedy, connection and hope are found in an unexpected place - an umbrella. Reading this play for inclusion in a festival, the visuals and words really stuck with me after the story ended. So happy to have seen this produced on stage. A lovely piece for any festival!

  • What a delightful show! Steven G. Martin’s /ärt/ hilariously reveals what happens when adults act like children as they judge a children’s art show. Full of fun characters for actors to sink their teeth into. An all female cast, including two young artists who steal the show and leave the audience smiling! This is a wonderful show for any festival.

  • Erin Osgood: Arab Spring

As a National Committee Reader for the BAPF 2022, ARAB SPRING was a delight to experience! Ibrahim has deftly woven a story about loss and discovery with humor and heart. When a career-driven daughter and her recovering addict brother meet to plan their father’s funeral, each must come to grips with conflicting beliefs, relationships, and loss. ARAB SPRING proves Ibrahim is not only a force on stage, but also very talented with a pen. With wonderful dialogue for actors to sink their teeth into, I highly recommend this gem. #BAPF2022

  • Erin Osgood: Dirty Laundry

As a National Committee Reader for the BAPF 2022, Dirty Laundry was a delight to experience! Dratwa has deftly woven a story about loss and moving on. A daughter not only is helping her father navigate life without her mother (there is a delightful scene where she is trying to explain how to do laundry over the phone), but also dealing with the revelation of her father's longtime affair. A chorus effortlessly strings the story together with lush, sometimes cringeworthy, descriptions, and humor. With wonderful dialogue for actors to sink their teeth into, I highly recommend this gem. #BAPF2022

  • Erin Osgood: When the Wheels Came Off the Meal

Mike Solomonson's WHEN THE WHEELS CAME OFF THE MEAL is a delightful story of two struggling souls looking for a connection to the world. Despite the age difference, the two women find that their brief weekly encounters have more meaning than either realized. Connections are made when you least expect it.

  • Erin Osgood: Stuck

Wonderfully written interaction between a couple who are dealing with the possibility of loss. This piece highlights that no two people react the same to an obstacle. DC Cathro's STUCK will definitely stick in your head for a while after the last word is read.
