Kent Thompson is a freelance director, producer, consultant, and writer, currently based in Denver. He served as Producting Artistic Director of the Denver Center Theatre Company from 2005-2017, where he created the Colorado New Play Festival Program, the Women's Voices Fund, and Off-Center, an innovative, immersive program for millennials. Prior to that he served as Producing Artistic Director for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival from 1989-2005, where he created the Southern Writer's Project. At those two organizations, he produced 43 world premieres, commissioned more than 50 new plays, and developed/workshopped more than 70 scripts.
