Michael J. Mejia was born and raised in Delano, California. He has two BA’s in English and Theatre and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Tisch School of the Arts. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles in television development. Before LA, he lived in Singapore where he traveled and studied.

Michael is currently working on his “Gay Bible,” a cycle of seven plays dealing with intersections of Evolving Gay Culture, the Mexican American Experience, and Modern Christianity. His play, The Book of Andy, has had two sold out productions in Bakersfield and Santa Ana and was a finalist in The Great Gay Play contest through Pride Films and Plays, receiving a staged reading in Chicago. Michael annually teaches story telling workshops to high school students. He wrote the script for the inaugural production of Platform Theatre Company, a devised theatre-as-therapy organization in Bakersfield, Ca.

    Diego and Mali will go on journeys of self discovery as they encounter love on the cusp of major change.
