Ken Narasaki

Ken Narasaki is an actor/playwright whose produced works include the recent adaptation of NO-NO BOY, as well as award-winning plays INNOCENT WHEN YOU DREAM, THE MIKADO PROJECT (co-written with Doris Baizley), and GHOSTS AND BAGGAGE. His latest play is a black comedy/drama called SPOILED, (5- 6 characters) which had a shattering reading at the Magic Theater, produced by Rainbow Zebra Productions. No-No Boy was a finalist for Best Audio Drama, Audies (Audible) 2021 and was produced by LA TheatreWorks, who also produced Innocent When You Dream in 2024. Innocent and The Mikado Project both won Pacific Rim Playwriting Awards from Kumu Kahua and the University of Hawaii. Ghosts and Baggage won Third Place for the C.Y. Lee Playwriting Competition.

Seattle, 1946: Japanese Americans are returning to the West Coast from concentration camps in the interior, from fighting in Europe in World War II, and, in Ichiro's case, from prison for refusing the draft. Like everyone else, Ichiro would rather forget what's happened over the past few years, but he's come back to find that the war still isn't over.
