Becky Wahlstrom
Becky Wahlstrom is an actress, writer, and arts educator. A graduate of The Chicago Academy for the Arts High School and London Academy for Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). She lived in Venice Beach California for 17 years where she worked in television, film and theater in tandem with writing and performing original short stories. Becky Wahlstrom is an actress, writer, and arts educator. A graduate of The Chicago Academy for the Arts High School and London Academy for Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). She lived in Venice Beach California for 17 years where she worked in television, film and theater in tandem with writing and performing original short stories. Becky’s written two optioned screenplays, "Between Heaven and Here" and the adaptation of Tania Aebi’s travel memoir "Maiden Voyage." She’s was honored to be commissioned by Tennessee Women’s Theater Project to write her first full-length stage play "In Stitches." The play went on to win Chaffin Barn's “Clash of the Playwrights” and had it's first production in August of 2018. She completed a second full-length play "A Froggy Becomes" while participating in Nashville Rep’s 2017 Writer’s Room Program. The play was selected to be part of The 2018 Chicago New Work Festival as well as The 2019 DGA Footlight Series in Athens, Georgia. In 2019 she was commissioned by Borderless Arts in collaboration with Nashville Children's Theater to write "Captain Aurora" a TYA play based on the autistic experience. The play was selected to be part of 2019 Women's Work Series at TWTP. Becky Wahlstrom is the recipient of the 2018 Tennessee Arts Commission grant for playwrights.
