The play begins in the JEKYLL home, a Victorian mansion in London. It’s late spring mid-1800's. In the middle of the night HENRY, age 13, wakes to hear a violent argument erupting from his parents’ chambers.
His mother, MARION demands his father, MALCOLM, to fire NANNETTE, HENRY’S beloved nanny. Crashing glass is heard and HENRY leaps out of bed. EDWARD HYDE appears in HENRY’S mirror. HYDE is HENRY’S violent alter ego. HENRY following HYDE’S instructions, calls out for MARION’S help. As she approaches his room, MARION is shoved down the stairs. MALCOLM and HENRY rush to MARION at the bottom of the stairs. She is dead.
Early morning, the staff including NANNETTE, the nanny, JASPER, the butler, MS. MUFFIN, the cook, HILDEGARDE the housekeeper and COWBOY the Stable Hand (*Alienist” “ALIAS” DR SIMON FOSTER) peer over MARION’S lifeless body. It’s the third mysterious death in the JEKYLL home. MALCOLM is missing and they must tell HENRY about his mother. JASPER covers the body while NANNETTE tells HENRY what happened. He tells NANNETTE of the fight he overheard. MALCOLM returns with INSPECTOR ARNAUX who tells MALCOLM, it’s MURDER!
From his window, HENRY spots ARNAUX and NANNETTE alone in the garden sharing a romantic moment. They've been conducting an affair since the first murder. Elsewhere, JASPER, MUFFIN and HIDEGARDE examine all the possible suspects of this heinous crime. HENRY can’t escape from HYDE who calls all the shots.
COWBOY flashbacks, to his former life as a doctor for mentally insane children. Instinct tells him that HENRY is the most likely suspect. ARNAUX has uncovered COWBOY’S identity and tells NANNETTE he’s going to the stable to question COWBOY who confesses he knows who the killer is but refuses to reveal. On his way back to London, ARNAUX tells NANNETTE he won't leave his wife because she’s pregnant. He also cautions NANNETTE to keep COWBOY’S identity a secret,
NANNETTE goes to the stables to investigate COWBOY herself. COWBOY reveals how he longs to be with her. In her disappointment with ARNAUX she accepts his advances and they consummate their relationship secretly in the barn. An unseen HENRY/HYDE watches silently.
During dinner NANNETTE tells the staff that ARNAUX knows someone who knows who the killer is. COWBOY dashes out of the kitchen to the stable where he is met by HENRY/HYDE who attacks him by swinging a horse bit at his head. He falls and he passes out while HYDE pours a can of kerosene over COWBOY’S body. He lights a match and COWBOY and the stable explode into flame.
From the house, MALCOLM smells smoke, sees the blaze, rings the fire bell and gets everyone out of the house. MALCOLM and the STAFF try to extinguish the fire when a fire truck appears and finishes the job. Suddenly THE GROOM appears with COWBOY’S ring and boots from the rubble.
The next morning ARNAUX arrives with a CONSTABLE and NANNETTE reveals COWBOY’S demise. ARNAUX is furious and blames NANNETTE for all. She tells ARNAUX to see himself out and she goes to HENRY’S room. HENRY, doing homework, transforms into HYDE and tries to kill her with HENRY’S hunting knife. HENRY and HYDE struggle. NANNETTE is knocked unconscious as HYDE loses strength over HENRY. ARNAUX and the CONSTABLE enter. NANNETTE who had gained consciousness cradles HENRY as MALCOLM and the STAFF appear.
HYDE regains control and in HENRY’S most fragile voice tells all that NANNETTE tried to kill him. They see the knife, believe HENRY. NANNETTE tells them it was the DEVIL himself, who was the murderer.
The CONSTABLE arrests NANNETTE. ARNAUX swears that he will prove her innocence. The STAFF, now frightened, all quit the JEKYLL household.
The final scene begins in NANNETTE’s prison cell and ends with each CHARACTER disappearing one by one until Hyde sings the last note

A New Musical About Friends, Family and Finding Yourself

She's 65 years old and she's just done the unthinkable – packed her bags, left a note, and boarded a plane for New York City. She's free at last after 43 years of a marriage that was all about him. As she rides the elevator up to her room at the Hotel Belleclaire she hears herself say: What have I done? I'm totally on my own! Am I crazy?

So begins The Hotel Belleclaire and the saga of our heroine, Gloria. Gloria is
about to become a grey divorcee, and a statistic in a growing trend of "ladies of a certain age"who want out. Silver separation is on the rise, led by other "Glorias," who at 50+ are walking –if not running – away from long-term marriages like never before. The Hotel Belleclaire musical is about this growing phenomenon and how three special women come to find their empowerment through tears, laughs and room service. They're not only friends but family, and they're on the road to reclaiming their identities and finding themselves. But actions have consequences, and when Gloria begins to come down from the high of her very dramatic "I've had enough!," she finds she is, well... completely clueless. It will take the experience of Marilyn and Eve to fill her in on the birds and the bees, and help her power on with confidence.
Like most women who decide to take their chances alone, Gloria hits an emotional wall of guilt, grief, anger, depression, fear and anxiety. She's got BIG questions:
Will I be lonely on my own?
Am I still attractive to men?
It's been so long since I've dated, can I get back in the game?
And what if he wants to have SEX!!!

It's a good thing Gloria has Eve and Marilyn to turn to for advice!
The Hotel Bellclaire musical is a funny, empowering, entertaining, lively and
tuneful journey for women (and men!) of all ages.
