Alicia Haymer, actress, writer, and director, is a native Nashvillian, and Fisk alum. In the 25 years that she’s spent on stage, she’s been honored to work with just about every professional theatre house in Nashville. Alicia’s written two short plays, Power to the People, which was most recently performed in the My America short play series in New York, NY, and In Sandy We Trust, which was commissioned as part of the Borderless Arts Theatre for Young Adults project with the Nashville Children’s Theater. She was invited to participate in Nashville Rep’s 2017 Writer’s Room Program in which she completed her first full-length play in two acts Heavy. She continues to act and write, and just finished her second full length play, Free and Public Citizen, with the Tennessee Playwright's Studio.

  • In Sandy We Trust
    When a family of farmers decide it's time to retire, they have to figure out which of their children to leave the family business to. While their son seems like the obvious choice, it's their daughter Sandy that proves she is the best successor they could ask for.
  • Power to the People
    Husband comes home early from work, and catches wife by surprise. The conversation that follows is a life changing one that neither expects.
  • Heavy
    This is a story about two 11 year olds who hatch a plan to keep their friend from moving away. When they go missing, after a visit to the neighborhood witch, we learn the secrets of their family, and how they deal with loss and forgiveness.
