Kit Goldstein Grant is a prize-winning New York City-based composer, lyricist and librettist. She is currently developing a new musical, MICRO-FACE, for NPR podcast PLANET MONEY. Her musicals have been seen in South Africa (THE NOSE, Artscape Theatre Centre; The Drama Factory; National Arts Festival) and in New York at Theatre Row (THE GIANT HOAX, Indieworks Theatre Co.), the Master Theater (THE NOSE, dir. Michael Chase Gosselin), the Midtown International Theater Festival (THE NOSE, nominee Best Musical), the Strawberry One-Act Festival (THE COMMUTERS, Calendar Boys Productions, voted Audience Favorite), The Players Theatre (WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD, THML Theatre Co.), and Theatre for the New City (THE WRONG BOX).     The Nose is a whimsical family musical based on Nikolai Gogol's beloved tale. The Nose entertains with Russian-flavored music and family-friendly humor, while featuring themes and lessons that resonate from Imperial Russia to modern-day America.

If the corpse in the train wreck turns out to be Uncle Joseph then Cousin Michael wins the family inheritance, unless Cousin Morris can dispose of the body first. From pillar to post, from packing-case to piano, the hapless heirs...

His daughter, Katrijn, longs to be a painter, but the Burgomaster insists she spend her time on housekeeping and cheese making instead.

    One day there is a storm and a wave washes a mermaid into the town...
    In the Dutch city of Edam, famed for its industry, cleanliness, and cheese, they have no time for silliness and imagination. The Burgomaster runs a tight operation, and demands strict conformity. His daughter, Katrijn, longs to be a painter, but the Burgomaster insists she spend her time on housekeeping and cheese making instead.

    One day there is a storm and a wave washes a mermaid into the town square. The Burgomaster feels it is his duty to keep her on land and train her to be a good housekeeper.

    The Mermaid quickly wearies of these tasks, and determines to return to the sea. To get there she helps Katrijn to teach the Burgomaster a lesson about the importance of dirt!

    Turkey and Blue Eyes have always been good little girls… until they meet a Strange Girl who tells them she has two tiny dancers in a box, but they can only see the dancers if they are very wicked. They go home and try to be wicked, but their mother tells them if they don’t behave then she will have to go away and send them a new mother with glass eyes and a wooden tail. They don’t want to lose their mother, but...
