Dante Green (they/he/she) (Playwright/Composer/Director) is a black, queer, gender non-conforming theatre-maker currently working and residing on Lenape land. They are a graduate of The University of the Arts with a BFA in Directing, Playwriting, and Production, where they focused on writing and directing for Musical Theatre. They are the Founding Artistic Director of The Makers' Ensemble, as well as an alumnus of Headlong Performance Institute, a member of the Network of Ensemble Theaters, a member of FoolsFury, and an affiliate member of Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. Dante Green is also an award-winning Visionary Leader, and a Visiting Instructor at Sheridan College Ontario and Wesleyan University. They have worked with companies such as The Public Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Pig Iron Theater Company, Lantern Theater Company, and Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. Their work has been seen at Ars Nova, FringeArts, The Wilma Theater, and Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, as well as been commissioned by the Painted Bride Art Center and Sheridan College Ontario.

Starting in the 1890s, the Buffalo Soldiers played a critical role in protecting and building the infrastructure of the country’s most cherished public lands, our National Parks. Using song and energetic physical storytelling, PARK PROTECTORS: The Story of the Buffalo Soldiers and the National Park Service takes young audiences on a musical journey through Yosemite and into the past to learn the compelling and under-appreciated history of the brave men who fought wildfires and poachers to create the now-familiar role of Park Ranger.

It’s a version of the musical that is original to it's score, and that depicts that fuller modern world view, queerness and all, in it's book. And it’s a version where Bobby maybe, just maybe knows how to express his feelings just a little bit better.

    Almost Summer, 2019. Graduation. Just before Ronnie takes a leap of faith moving to the big apple to find herself, her chosen family rallies to throw her a surprise going away party. Inspired by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s COMPANY, TO RONNIE WITH LOVE picks up on similar themes of love and societal pressure, but finds them in our youth; in our most vulnerable moments—among our most trusted loved ones— riding the line between relief and regret.

Weaving narratives from multiple walks of life, from artists to entrepreneurs, biological families to chosen ones, relationships to independence, the piece reflects and walks the path of a storm, creating the question: How do we adapt to our environment?
