K. Alexa Mavromatis’s short plays and one-acts—including THE STAKEOUT (finalist for the Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Heideman Award), JINXED, MARTY, RIGHT-JUSTIFIED (co-written with MJ Halberstadt), BONE CHINA, and TRUE BLUE (finalist for the Arts & Letters Prize for Drama)—have been produced throughout the U.S. and internationally. Her work has been published in anthologies and textbooks by Smith and Kraus, Bedford/St. Martin’s, and Stage Partners; JINXED is available as an acting edition from Original Works Publishing. She was a member of New Perspectives Theatre Company’s 2020 Short Play Lab, where she developed her one-act FOUL LINE.

Alexa’s full-length plays include THE BACK ROOM (third place recipient of the David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award), GRAVITY, and PIRATE RADIO. She is a past playwriting fellow at New Repertory Theatre, and a member of the Dramatists Guild. Alexa earned her MFA in Playwriting at Boston University. In addition to her work as a playwright, Alexa manages marketing and communications for her creative home, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre.
