Sometimes the arrival is worse than the wait.

One day a man no one knew spent a week in Cutler, Texas to methodically rid himself of all his possessions then walk into the Gulf of Mexico to drown. Now, on the eve of the tenth anniversary of that event, the local sheriff, a local hotel manager, and a reporter meet on the Gulf shore to recount the event and to face the bigger questions it presents.

Jamie Adler finds that she and several annoying co-workers must stay late at the office. The evening becomes an encapsulation of everything about her job that renders her powerless and grinds her life into the ground. There is, however, one, last desperate hope that she clings to.

Ron invites his older brother Mike to the house he bought as a wedding gift for his fiancée Amy. But the dilapidated structure seems to encourage old antagonisms to arise between the two and the ensuing confrontation threatens to ruin Ron's surprise for Amy who is due to arrive at any moment.
