Dominica Plummer's plays include The Jinx which was a finalist for the 2018 Midwest Dramatists Conference in Kansas City. The Jinx appears in a collection of baseball plays entitled Extra Innings: Ten Short Plays About Baseball (Next Stage Press, October 2022). Other plays are The Assignment (co-written with Austen Janna Borg) which was a finalist for the 2019 Parish Players TENS Festival in Thetford, VT; and a one act play The Roommate (Colorado College, 2022). Dominica's first full length play ANTWERP 1658 about playwright and philosopher Margaret Cavendish was long listed for the Royal Shakespeare Company's #37PlaysProject in 2023. Dominica is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama in the United States, and an alumna of John Retallack’s 2021-22 Oxford Playwriting in Oxford, UK. She divides her time between London, New York and Vermont.

    One act. Steph is looking for a new roommate. She’s happy to take anyone at a time of social distancing and decreased mobility. So when the overly friendly Vida turns up on her doorstep, Steph invites her in. Things get complicated when Steph’s boyfriend Jeff arrives unexpectedly, despite quarantine. Soon, he and Vida are “bonding” over probability distributions and stochastic modeling. Desperate to hold on to...

    Short. It’s the Battle of the Bands Night at the fictitious Amityville High in Vermont — a time honored tradition when high school seniors show their proud families (and their teachers) what they can do with music. On this particular night, the weather has decided that music deserves a break. The show has been canceled. Only problem is, no one has told the infamous death metal band CÄTERWÄUL, who are currently hiding out in the band room. They are hiding out because they are one, crucial, band member short, and there is a heated debate going on what to do about it.

  • Jet Lag
    Short. Another pandemic play. Sophy, an archeologist, has just flown nonstop from Los Angeles to London. Something is not quite right about the London she has arrived in. She also has a bad conscience about the way she filled in the passenger locator form for the UK government before she left LA. She meets Eddie on the platform of a deserted train station. Soon she is wondering when she is, and why the streets are empty.
  • sixty ton angel falls to the earth
    Morality play. Death has finally come for Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of Defense, and one of the chief architects of the Iraq War in 2003. But Rumsfeld is not going into the wild blue yonder without a fight. Death may finally have met a match.

    Short. A post pandemic play. Rose and Ally, accompanied by Rose's seven year old son, Leo, are going for lunch at the zoo. Leo is lion mad, so where else do they hang out but the lion enclosure? But before Rose, Ally and Leo can eat, they've got to wait for the lions to have their lunch first. Only problem is, what's on the menu?

    Short. An ordinary family sits down to an ordinary dinner, only to be interrupted by a muck-raking journalist.

    Short. Tasha has been given the assignment of interviewing a local hero about 9-11, and she’s found Monty’s name on Google. But Monty refuses to talk about that day, and only after Tasha explains that she has to get an ‘A’ on this assignment, does Monty finally relent. In the ensuing revelations, Tasha discovers the story of not one, but two heroes, and Monty finds a friend he can talk to about the past.
  • Yarn and Anarchy — a Christmas play
    Short. Ex-chemistry professor Samantha makes gifts with a difference, which is why, one Christmas Eve, Santa comes visiting for one of her custom made surprises. But this is one sinister Saint Nick with a hidden agenda, so how can Samantha avoid being part of his nefarious plans?

    Short. Diehard Red Sox fan Joe meets the girl of his dreams. He introduces her to his best friend Mike at a game. Mike discovers that Gracie has a terrible secret. He tells Joe that he is going to have to make a choice: the Sox or his girl. Either way, Joe’s choice threatens to break his heart.
