Robert Alexander Wray likes making things and figuring it all out later. Theatre Festival (NYC), and been a finalist/semifinalist for numerous competitions, including the Heideman, Red Bull Theater Short New Play Festival, and the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. His work has been performed at the Eldred Theatre, Live Arts, Four County Players, The Barrow Group, Naked Angels, The Actors Studio, New Circle Theatre Company, Westbank, Torn Page, the Moscow Theatre Festival and the Brighton Fringe. He's a member of the New Circle Theatre Company and lives in central Virginia.

  • Looking Glass Elegy
    (One Person Play) Looking Glass Elegy unfolds around the memories of George, a film location scout who journeys back and forth in time with the hopes of making sense of existence. It's an odyssey of the mind that explores the inescapable presence of the past.
  • Melancholy Echo
    (Full Length) A pastor, having just quit the church, embarks on a surreal pilgrimage whereupon he discovers a mysterious notebook filled with story fragments. Determined to turn these fragments into a seamless whole, he attempts to write a narrative of his own devising, but the original authors, a pair of lovers known only as Phoenix and Dove, have the final say.
  • Ground Streaming Blood
    (Full Length) This tongue in cheek continuation of Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida tells the story of the Trojan War from the downfall of Hector to the letting in of the infamous Trojan Horse. It's a chronicle of gods and goddesses, conflicted warriors, the costs of war, gender politics, fate vs. free will, and the struggle to live a life that rises above old modes of violence and fear.
  • Savage Variations
    (Full Length) Lena and Owen meet cute but part deadly in a time-bending BDSM tale about desire and the dangers of intimacy.
  • All is Always Now
    (Full Length) All of us play roles in our lives, but few play them as extravagantly as Lowell, Harold, Weldon and Margot, four longtime New York actor friends who gather together for a final farewell that turns out to be more final than they expected.
  • Bullet for Unaccompanied Heart
    (Full Length) Part blues song, part crossword puzzle, part exegesis on Ovid, a musician, Dugan McBane, gets taken hostage by the ghost of his former lover, Anya Edlund, an otherworldly punk rock princess. Dugan’s release hinges on one thing: an apology.

    (Full Length) A dark coming-of-age story about Casey Horn, a young boy dealing with a sickly “Star Wars” obsessed brother, a girl next door who won’t give him the time of day, and a mother with a Holly Golightly psychosis who always falls for Mr. Wrong.

    (Monologue) A girl reminisces about someone she once loved and comes to a bittersweet realization.
  • Autumn Tale
    (Monologue) On a beautiful fall day, Jess is confronted by the unimaginable.
  • Because I Burn (Self-Portrait)
    (Monologue) The life story of a very strange character, abridged.
  • CloudLogic
    (Short Play) Three sisters gather on a mountain overlook and bond over their lives until one of them reveals a shattering secret.
  • White Trash Wonderland
