Hannah Ruth Wellons is a playwright, director, actor, and musician living and working in Washington, DC. She earned her undergraduate degrees in musical theater and music from American University. In her years as an undergraduate student, she performed in more than fifteen productions, including Little Women (Marmee) and Big Love (Thyona) at AU and Victory (Bradshaw) at BADA. As a director, Hannah Ruth has directed or assistant directed productions of Arcadia, Pippin, Company, and a new work called Nectarine. Hannah Ruth, or HR, is passionate about reinventing classic works, accessibility, and creating collaborative spaces for artists to work in and feel safe creating.
