  • I felt like I had stepped into the room when reading WINDOWS, WINDOWS, TREES and my heart melted. This is the type of play that makes you feel human in a slice of life kind of way. Humans helping humans in the best way they can. Weaver has done an excellent job of making you fall in love with his characters on the first page. It’s a play with a lot of heart and human connection in it—my favorite kind of play!

  • I had the privilege to watch and listen to KILLING IT at the Sauk’s New Plays in Development program! This play makes you laugh, but makes you wonder if you should be laughing at all? It is full of wit, and horror that makes you unsettled just as Jon’s character feels. I enjoyed all the twists and turns in it. Plus, it opens doors for discussion of how do we deal with trauma and grief? Do we need to have a laugh over it? I hope to see a full staged production of this play in the future!

  • I had the privilege to watch and listen to DISCARDS at The Sauk’s New Plays in Development program. It is a sweet script with a setting that is as charming as all the characters are in it. It is refreshing to see senior characters that are fully developed and a romance between them. A romance that you will root for the whole time. I find that I would rather watch a production of this rom-com than any you find on any streaming service. I hope that DISCARDS makes your heart as warm as it did mine.

  • This play is absolutely hilarious! I teach an Intro to Drama class, and I have them read plays in this class: They love this play a lot. Thank you for the great play and hyping up my students that plays can be and are hysterical as this one. :)

  • This play is like a young adventurer version of Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke. It's got all the beautiful world-building you could ever ask for, stellar jokes, and epic heroines. It's a whole other world, and I really wished I had a script like this when I was in middle school! Plus, if you are looking for a large cast this script has a vast range of different characters to play as. Also to have a female protagonist with ADHD is super cool to see, and something I have longed to see in young adult plays for a while now.

  • Rosemary Pearl Moore: Joyland (10-minute play)

Joyland pokes fun at the utterly ridiculous nature of interviewing for a certain famous mouse and I love it for that exact reason. The way technology is used in this piece by making the android the main conflict makes for great comedy. Whoever gets a hold of this script will have a blast in acting, designing, and directing.

I am always recommending this play to others all the time! It is phenomenal! I always think we need more college theatre like this because it feels so REAL and RAW for young actors to get a hold of. It's full of subtext and wit and sharpness. And it's something so relatable to so many in the theatre world while talking about how much politics are involved in this process. It's theatre like this that puts me on the edge of my seat reading! Brillant stuff!
