Lily Houghton

Lily Houghton is a playwright born and raised in Manhattan. Her plays have been produced/developed at MCC Theater Company, Atlantic Theater Company, New York Stage and Film, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Flea Theater, NYU, Seattle Repertory Theater, New Harmony Project, 24 Hour Plays on Broadway, Normal Ave, Yale, Contemporary American Theater Festival, Jermyn Street Theatre in London as well as dozens of colleges throughout the country. She has won two Sloan Foundation Science Grants, the Elizabeth George Grant and is the recipient of Launch Commission from the Atlantic Theater Company. She has been a proud member of the Obie Award winning Youngblood playwrights group since she was twenty-two. She is a member of NYTW’s Usual Suspects. In television, Lily currently has projects in development with Dakota and Elle Fanning's Lewellen, Mark Gordon, AMC Studios, Gia Coppola’s Detour, Utopia, Elliot Page’s Pageboy, and Amazon with Blake Lively's B for Effort.

Lily just wrote the film adaptation of the novel Competitive Grieving for Emma Roberts’ Belletrist and Rebelle Media. Diablo Cody and Mason Novack are producing Lily on a film adaption of one of her plays. She is currently adapting another one of her plays for Plan B Entertainment.

In the podcast space, Lily currently has a project in development with Temple Hill for Audible. Gia Coppola will direct.
