Emmy Potter

Emmy Potter is a New York-based writer, actor, and director by way of the Midwest. Her pop culture writing has been featured on IFC, Consequence of Sound, CultureSonar, Bright Wall/Dark Room, Crooked Marquee, the Film Stage, and the Belladonna Comedy (among other places). Offline, she is the author of several plays including MANEATER, which she produced and directed Off-Off Broadway, and THE WAYWARD WOMEN, which was commissioned by the Phoenix Theatre Ensemble as part of their new play reading series in 2019. Her monologue "A Lighthouse" was selected as part of Volume 4 of the Playground Experiment's Faces of America Festival and Monologue Anthology in 2021. Emmy holds a B.M. in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University and is currently working on an MFA in Playwriting at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She is certified in the Meisner Technique and a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Inspired by the Three Witches from Shakespeare's MACBETH (and a certain real life female country trio), this 10-minute play is a comedic look at what happens when women dare to speak truth to power and the fissures it causes among friends and foes.
