T.J. Lewis

T.J.L (T.J. Lewis) (he/him/his) is a queer, Southern, Blck, playwright, actor, producer, and administrator originally from the Carolinas based in NYC. He received his BA in performance theatre from ASU. Since graduating he has worked with various theatre companies along the East Coast. He has been a finalist and semifinalist in selection for programs such as Ars Nova’s Play Group, Fault Line Theatre’s Irons in the Fire, Pipeline Theatre’s PlayLab group, SPACE on Rydar’s Farm’s BLCKSPACE Residency, and Bucharest Inside the Beltway’s RADIANCE Residency. He was given the honor of being named a finalist for the 2023 Founders Award from New York Stage and Film. He was named a semi-finalist and a finalist for the 49th Annual Samuel French OOB Short New Play Festival Competition. One of his short plays was recently selected as one of the top 30 scripts for the 2025 50th Annual Samuel French OOB Short New Play Festival Competition. So far, T.J.L has had his work developed and performed in the UK, New York, Los Angeles, and Massachusetts. His goal is to craft worlds that house stories that allow the promotion of softness, celebration, encouragement, and acceptance for queer BIPOC people, especially queer Blck boys.
