Berryman is always writing roles that make an actor foam at the mouth, but ALIEN GIRLS gets meta and murky about competition. Entrenched in love and complicated compassion, this play about fated friendship, collaboration, and other worldly womb politics is also, quite simply, fkn funny. It challenged my core beliefs, and I can't wait to ugly cry with my own Carolyns and Tiffanys at an eventual production.

Precise, haunting and honest, this play is not only a gift for actors, but an accessible and considerate exploration of sexual violence and adolescence in the internet age. With language that is easy on the ears and grueling on the heart, this is a piece that especially universities and colleges should consider!!

Reading the full draft confirms this is a piece with juicy roles for comedic actors hungry for searing text. Hope to see this exploration of the private and personal commodified fully produced!

A complex look at financial burden, censorship, and the consequences of integrity when dedicating one’s whole life to one’s work. Chewy, delicious dialogue with juicy roles for femme actors.
