CAITLIN SAYLOR STEPHENS (b. 1986, Baltimore) is a Brooklyn-based playwright and performance artist. Her work has been hailed as “taut and brutal” (The New York Times), “artistically hazardous” (The New Yorker), “fearlessly poetic” (Culturebot), and “Cinderella in reverse” (BOMB Magazine). Sloan Foundation, New York State Council for the Arts (NYSCA), Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Jerome Foundation, Whiting Foundation, Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation/USArtists International, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Borscht Film Festival/The Knight Foundation, and the NYC Women's Fund for Media, Music, and Theater from the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Fellowships include Headlands Center for the Arts, UCross, SFAI, and New Georges. Other honors include finalist for Sundance Theater Lab, three-time National Playwright’s Conference at The O’Neill finalist, Princess Grace Award in Playwriting, Princess Grace Award in Theater, P73 Fellowship, Jerome Hill Fellowship, Jerome Fellowship at Playwright’s Center, Creative Capital Award, Theater 503 Award, Neukom Literary Arts Award, New Dramatists Fellowship, and others. Her work has been nominated for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award and has twice received an honorable mention on the Kilroy’s List.
