Struggling to cope with her mother’s suicide and her own depression, Jemma takes a trip with her two best friends, Constance and Frank, to spend the weekend on the foggy and desolate shores of Bodega Bay. After meeting a diver named Sebastian, the four explore the coast’s eerie landscape, the church and school yard from Hitchcock’s The Birds, and dive for oysters in the raucous Pacific while dealing with their own rocky friendship. While fighting the urge to either let herself sink or swim, Jemma finds herself entangled in a love triangle, haunted by ghosts, and stuck between dreamworld and reality. Jemma’s journey will ask us, is it our choice to stay alive or has the decision already been made for us by our ancestors?
