Reginald L. Douglas is a director, producer, and advocate dedicated to creating new work and supporting new voices, and the Associate Artistic Director at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC, where he will next direct a reimagined ensemble production of Dael Orlandersmith’s revered solo play Until the Flood. Reginald L. Reginald has developed and directed plays, musicals, and multimedia work by many acclaimed writers including Dominique Morisseau, Cori Thomas, Angelica Chéri, Lynn Nottage, Nikkole Salter, Kemp Powers, Jen Silverman, Ngozi Anyanwu, Brian Quijada, Matt Schatz, Amy Evans, Zakiyyah Alexander & Imani Uzuri, Dave Harris, Francisca Da Silveira, Chisa Hutchinson, Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm, Josh Wilder, Larry Powell, Harrison David Rivers, Herb Newsome, Craig “muMs” Grant, Korde Arrington Tuttle, a.k. payne, Jessica Dickey, Laura Brienza, Kevin R. Free, Brent Askari, Micah Ariel Watson, and several others. Reginald currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the National New Play Network; regularly serves on the selection committees for local and national awards, fellowships, and grants; has spoken at several national conferences and festivals; and is an active member of SDC, where he serves on the Anti-Racism Best Practices Task Force and Board Nominating Committee. A proud graduate of Georgetown University, Reginald is currently a guest lecturer at the New School, O’Neill’s National Theatre Institute, Boston University, and University of Missouri at Kansas City. Reginald is the recipient of the National Theatre Conference’s 2020 Emerging Professional Award.
