Jay Muskett

Jay B Muskett (Dine ́) is an Indigenous writer from Nakaibito New Mexico. He has earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the University of New Mexico. Full productions include, 1n2ian and Sheepherders Special which was produced by New Native Theatre in St. Paul Minnesota. Life within the Cracks was selected to be a part of the annual reading at Native Voices at the Autry in Los Angeles as well as The La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and was recently invited to be a part of The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Abeline TX. Muskett is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Synopsis

Set in the backdrop of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women epidemic, Shell and her young daughter run away from their home on the Rez to escape the possible danger. Years pass, and the number of Indigenous women who have disappeared stacks as Dezbah, who is now grown returns to try and create positive change for and among her people not knowing that the danger she thought she and Shell escaped from has...
