Ethan Doskey

Ethan Doskey (he/they) is a Chicago-based playwright originally from Kansas City. His play "A Picture’s Worth Five Dollars" appeared in the Kansas City and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. His plays "Tidewrack" and "After Gray Matters" have been developed at The Theatre School (TTS) at DePaul University. Additionally, he worked as the literary management intern at Unicorn Theatre. He has served on the Prototypes Committee, a board of students producing one-act projects, and directed devised works "LOOP," "Catastrophe," and "What’s Beautiful About Being Human." His most recent play, "Past, Wrapped," was produced at DePaul, where he holds a BFA in Playwriting.

Synopsis

Two estranged former classmates, Maya and Nicholas, reconnect to film a documentary and find answers about their relationship and fractured families. As their histories unfurl, they debate and question reality. "Past, Wrapped" asks how our memories control us and whether we ever change at our core. How badly do we desire human connection? What is our pain tolerance for seeking the truth?

Synopsis

Delaney yearns to have her memory wiped. Phoebe, the President of The Forget Council, grants her wish. As Delaney undergoes treatments, the underground institution begins to crumble from the inside. "After Gray Matters" interrogates the regrets we can’t let go of and asks if starting over is such a good thing.
